I figured since threads about music keep popping up I figured why not one for movies? Just say some movie's you've seen lately or classics or whatever, anything that you think deserves to be shared. Been looking for movie's lately so I'll probably end up watching anything anyone suggests provided I haven't already seen it, lol. Reviews are fun.

Office Space
--might not be as funny if you haven't worked a few really sh!tty jobs yet, but I know lots of people who say it's one of their favorite movies of all time.

Fargo
--great characters, gnarly crime, William H. Macy rules.

Blade Runner
--looks nice and dated now, but influenced pretty much every sci-fi movie, game and book that's come since.

The Wrestler
--a great story about work and love and frailty. Shot on an amazingly tiny budget.

EDIT: oh, and the HBO series The Wire.
--might take a few shows to get into, but by about #6 you'll be hooked into the whole five seasons. One of the best movies ever made, all together. Might wreck most other crime stories and 98% of all TV for you, though.

Those are all great, I've seen a lot of them. And yes reviews are fantastic!

A lot of the ones Zhukov mentioned I haven't seen though, I've been meaning to watch Kingdom of Heaven, and Full Metal Jacket I've heard a lot of good things about. Also I'm going to try and see District 9 as soon as I can. Serenity I've never really liked though. Shrek was my favorite movie as a kid and I love Wall E. Shaun of the Dead I've seen a few times and it's always a great one. The one's you've said were good but not great I've seen all but V for Vendetta, which I keep meaning to see as well. And I've heard about Bang Bang Kiss Kiss before but haven't seen it yet.
Kehaar I LOVE Office Space, maybe not the greatest ever but still very high up on my list. Fargo sounds good, I'll try and see that soon too. Blade Runner I have a copy around here somewhere but I don't think I've ever actually seen it, I'll be sure to try that too. The Wrestler as well, I almost watched it once but I heard it was a sad movie so I decided not to that night, but maybe sometime soon I can get that one.

in the Humor and Violence vein:

"Grosse Pointe Blank" was fun. A guy who murders people for money goes back to his home town for his high school reunion. Awesome short-'n-vicious fight scene, good characters, toe-tappin' '80's soundtrack.

"Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"-- Guy Ritchie bonehead criminals getting in way over their heads. EDIT: oops, Snatch has already been mentioned =P

two old ones that are really cool:

Casablanca: a little odd to see the movie since you've heard every line so many times it's a cliche now, but the story is really good. War, money and love, venality and courage, hiding and murder.

Citizen Kaine: epic story of a man who gets everything and fails hard.

a REALLY old story that will (sadly) never wear out:
Shakespeare's Richard III, the Ian McKellan version. Lots o' killin'. Original 16th century english looks odd in the setting of Europe leading up to WWII, but you get used to it. Holy crap does that guy murder his way to power. Probably hasn't happened more than 5000 times in human history.

i havent a freaking idea, i mean like the first one was a good all rounder, the second, good for action in the matrix, and the third was good for action outside of the matrix so i havent a clue why the first one's fans wouldnt like the other two...
