Apparently, it's going to be the first true MMORPGRTS. I'm kinda excited. That and if you go and actively post on the forums until alpha and have your friends do it too, you could all get alpha access. ^_^

Not much info yet. Just the notes the site has. Interesting notes though. =D

Oh no. I think I'm addicted to another game before it's even released.

No, thanks for the heads up! Looks totally awesome! Shame on me, I registered on the forums

I'm going to say meh on this one. First of all it's going to be made in Flash, from a top down view, which, in my opinion, takes away from a lot of potential visual beauty of a game.

Second, the game will be entirely funded through micro-transactions, so it's very likely that while you won't have to pay to play, you'll probably have to pay to play. (ie. If you want to gain any status in the game, you'll have to spend money to get that upgraded castle tower faster).

Due to the Flash thing, it is kind of a meh, but at the same time, you can't help but wonder. It could be totally incredible. Crazy things have been done with Flash. Some guy made a full level of an ASCII platformer in Flash in 25 lines of code.

The microtransactions thing isn't even supposed to give an advantage, to my understanding. It's just supposed to be a real cash alternative to having to pay in-game cash for the same items with the same benefits. Maybe I read wrong though.

Even though they're the same items, people who pay will be able to get the same items faster with real money, allowing them to have an advantage in time spent grinding/waiting for money.

This is true. I don't know. We'll have to see how it goes when the game comes out I suppose. At least it won't be as unbalanced as some of the Eastern MMOs though. Some of those keep players who pay for microtransactions light years ahead of non-paying players.

I give two examples: Furcadia and Maple-Story.

Both of these games have micro-transactions. Neither give any player an advantage (or much). They are entirely cosmetic. They still make money off them.

So: Micro-transactions need not give unbalanced advantages to certain players to make money. This is a good thing all-round in my opinion.

Yup, they can work out, but I was reading the forums on their site, and it seems like currently (though maybe it subject to change) you would be able to buy weapons with cash, not just apparel. I posted there to say that it should be limited to apparel if they do, so hopefully they'll consider that route.

Judging by the daily responses that come from Ian, I'm assuming they get the feedback. Now just to hope they're listening to it like a lot of other indie developers do.

I know, it's pass-out material.

Yeah. Still, it gives people an idea of what to expect. I'm starting to doubt the scope of the game, however. Oh well, just have to wait and see. *shrugs*

Too hopeful for a good MMORTS.
