When I went to check on Wolfire's twitters, I discovered that clicking on the links gave me a 404 error. Going to Wolfire's twitter page was the same issue. Going to Twitter's home page, I was met with a bad sign: it says that the site has been hacked by the "Iranian Cyber Army."
It also had the following text, which I have no idea what it means :?
بنام خدا
به عنوان یک ایرانی در پاسخ به دخالت های شیطنت آمیز این سرویس دهنده به دستور مقامات آمریکایی در امور داخلی کشورم )
این سایت به عنوان هشدار هک می شود

How long before we go to war?

And it's back.

Wow, that was quick. Twitter's back up again.

Just out of curiosity, how often has that site been hacked?

wow, gibberish on twitter, who would have thought...

I mean come on guys, you don't have to hack in, you can just sign up and spray useless nonsense like 95% of the tweeters out there.

Or write junk like this post at 4:03 a.m....

It was a DNS hack.
Details and overview available on the BBC: 'Iranian cyber army' hits Twitter

I honestly think it says something about Twitter's staffing if they've been hacked that many times already...

...in any case, I missed tweeting my Twitter.

Oh, that is only because Iran invaded Iraq today.

(Only half kidding, they actually did as it seems)

Edit:
Also, as I now got around to reading the BBC bit, I think it is time that DNSSec is implemented on a wide scale. Although the article from the BBC is not really specific, it doesn't really get clear, if they hacked a Twitter owned DNS server or a server up the hierarchy.

For those of you, who think twitters programmers must be bad, because they get hacked all the time, that is only half true. Twitter is now among one of the most popular services and therefore a high profile target, so it is no wonder it gets hacked more often than other sites.
