Other Indies

Post by Armored Wolf » Fri Jan 22, 2010 1:57 pm

Recommend some other independent game developers!

I found Lugaru by accident, and found Cortex Command through the Wolfire Forums, and Natural Selection 2 through the preorder pack. Are there any others I should be aware of?

I am also aware of Super Meat Boy and Rubber Ninjas, but come suggest some more for me. I want to make sure I'm not missing any awesomeness.

EDIT: List!

Interstellar Marines: Something similar to NS2 (not really, but space-themed), it has a few online gameplay demos which I suggest are awesome to check out ;)

World Of Goo: I seriously had the BEST time playing this game. So many ingenious puzzles and an epic story

Braid: One of the best (if not THE best) puzzle games I've played. The storyline is muddled until the end, where it clears right up... but it's still a bit of a mindf*ck. Definitely worth the money

Machinarium: It's an intriguing game with a simple but lovely story. Some of the puzzles will kill you trying to find something to click on :( But overall a good play, don't buy it until you've played the demo however.

...And that's all I think... I'll post back if I remember some

Thanks for all of those, I'm an idiot and forgot to mention World of Goo, although I knew about that previously (I freaking own it.)

Can't go anywhere without mentioning the super-over-hyped-but-still-going-to-be-freakin-awesome indie MMO.

Basically:
EvE - grinding + complete galactic simulation + skill-based combat

Also, Frozen Synapse. Looking really good.

Infinity looks epic...of course we're obviously not sure if it IS epic yet. ;)

Also, can't forget Ensemble and Pirates of the Burning Sea. Seriously, forget the publisher, PotBS was and is an indie game.

Oh and Eufloria

Thanks Blorx, I was looking for Eufloria, knowing I missed something like that in my list.
