HAHA, R_T, you were right, you really do sound a lot different when you're chatting in real time. People react to you entirely differently. Its hilarious.

See, if I'd said something like this, people would be like, "Oh yeah, talking with people close to you is best, etc." But no, when R_T says it, people go off the hook and start foaming at the mouth.

Quite frankly, in the flat ambiguous tones of my minds ear, I too read this as a rebuke. I'm not sure if the purple is making it worse or not, after all it is the universal colour of sarcasm. You're the Alpha troll, man, there's no shame in that, but if you're not trying to be a dick make sure you pick your words a little more carefully, because we've got expectations now.

Still. I'm no stranger to Ren's point, I don't believe internet forums are a healthy place to expose yourself at all. I think there was a forum last year where I discussed the problems with net therapy, but that was in relation to alcoholism and the original poster was far more melodramatic. Dudeman, honestly? Your post reads a little like fan fiction, but I appreciate you're just curious about other peoples experiences and, as someone who went through a rather nasty break up myself around 2 years ago I have nothing but sympathy for you...

Well, that's a lie actually, because all you are to me is some text on a screen, but can you have the satisfaction of the idea of some sympathy, if I was ever sympathetic with anything.

No surprise there.
I vote for having [nosarcasm]-tags Ren can use, when he enters serious discussion mode.

I'll act indignant all I want, I come on here to suggest that gushing on an internet forum is no substitute than confiding in a friend. Do people enjoy having a computer screen as their best friend or something?

We've all been through heartache at some point or another, if someone hasn't at this stage I feel sorry for them. It's a rite of passage when growing up. So I'm not going to treat the guy like a baby, I'm telling him as an adult that this won't solve anything, and any feigned sympathy showed by someone on the internet is an empty comfort that won't last long.

Learn how to be open with people face to face. It's easier in the long run.

Get Colicedus to bite it off.

I honestly probably should not have made this thread in the first place. Sorry about my outburst earlier. I have, as you said, Ren, confided in a friend, and this did help, but I just wanted to post here and read some similar situations posted by you guys. Anyways, lets just let this thread sink into the abyss of the forum. Everyone wave goodbye now!

Well, as long as you've confided in an actual friend, I'm content. Thanks for realising that I was only offering a bit of advice.

Anyway, many fish in the sea, yadda yadda yadda, it may have felt like "the one", but there really is no "one", thousands of people in the world can be right for you, you just need the right situation and a bit of luck. That's the bones of it!

But if you think I'm going soft on you, fuck you, I hope you choke. =P

One side of me wants to see a picture of this abomination while the other side of me wants to go into denial and ignore the fact I ever read that sentence ... this internal struggle may last a while ... LOL
