I was having it on the brink of derailment trying to generalize the topic after Wilbefast showed an opening. Unluckily Endoperez brought it back on track.

But don't fear it won't be long.

Haha yeah the conversation went from one about morality in games to one about the general definitions of morality and ethics. I was considering playing devil's advocate and mentioning the change in thread topic to further throw it off topic, but I decided I'd be considerate for once because I was enjoying the debate. It was interesting. If something doesn't interest me, I usually just derail it.

Follow the posts back to the last page. It's not that far to look to find an explanation. We were talking about the Morality thread, like we said.

Oh. Assaultman, I guess that might partly be my fault.
You see, Armored asked for a thread that had yet to be derailed and so I told him to check out the Morality in Games thread.

And so Tokage and Renegade concurred, but added that they will shortly derailed the thread themselves, and from there it concluded with your confusion. :)

As if you've ever said something completely original that hasn't ever been said before in some way. I guess you should just never post again, it's futile.

We all stand on the shoulder of giants.

Come on, that is common sense since centuries and gets particularly more important now that copying things became as easy as pressing a button.
Also it is not about if what you said has been said before, it is more about if your audience has heard it before in that particular context. You are just trying to be stupid...

I couldn't have quite said it better myself.

But really, thank you, Assaultman67, for validating my theory that you're probably nothing more than a big starchy potatoe with two arms, two legs and a head.

I mean, really, can you understand the futility of your point? That's about as useful as saying "Life is meaningless, I'm giving up." For god sake man have a little self respect. Or go find some if you don't have any.

Besides, what WAS your point to begin with? Let's recap.

Your point was that you shouldn't bother posting something if it hasn't already been said by someone somewhere in the world at some point in history.

So how did me saying something that had been said by someone before prove your point? You didn't demonstrate the uselessness of what I said or disprove the usefullness of what I said. That would be the only way that I could have "proved your point", if there even is a point to be found from your flabbergasting, ill-informed and ill-conceived sequence of intellectual fuck-ups
