Does Death Smiles work on an NTSC console? I had originally wanted Mushihimesama Futari Black Label, as well, but it wasn't compatible with NTSC consoles.
I also may just have to pick up Records of Agarest War. Looks pretty awesome, tbh. I could use a good SRPG.
EDIT: Odd that RoAW is available in stores, limited edition for 360...and online on the PSN...but the opposite isn't true of the other console...
EDIT2: Seems Mushihimesama Futari has no region protection...but it's $75 on Play-Asia...and isn't the black label edition.
EDIT3: Nvm, Death Smiles Limited Edition in June. I see now.

All three of these games are coming out in the US, so there's no point in spending extra money to get the Japanese versions. Besides that, Death Smiles US is gonna have a bunch of extra stuff and include the most recent versions of the game on it (the Black Label Edition).
You may want to pick up Mushihimesama Futari if you ever get a chance, Cave is basing the US sales of that on that to see how interested the US market is in region-free games. Although because Death Smiles is being ported over, that may be a moot point.
I was reading an interview about Record of Agarest War and they were being rather vague about why they aren't releasing it on disk for PS3. I'm guessing something with marketing or exclusives or something.

I see that now, lol. Agarest War looks the most interesting to me, though.

I might. I don't know if I'll be able to though. Personally, I'm extremely interested in region-free games. I want to be able to play the Japan exclusives (well, some of them...others are debatable in morality).

That's still really weird.

As if Agarest War isn't of enough debatable morailty. One of the main focuses of the game is the "Soul Breeding" system where each generation, you choose a female love interest, woo her, make babies, and it affects the abilities of the next generation when you play through that.

That is debatable, but I mean, look at all the games that they have over in Japan that can't even be rated M because they're so graphic.

HAHA, you got a point. Although, all the console releases of those games, have all the adult scenes removed. When comparing computer games and console games in Japan, the console releases are much more strict content wise.

That probably has something to do with Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo's own censors.
I know for a fact that I could name several games off the top of my head that were Japan exclusives and why they were debatable on the PC. Hell, I could name a few that could never be released on consoles because of their subject matter.

On that note, here's an interesting blogpost I read recently, a bit not-work-safe, but a good read.

I ended up pre-ordering Agarest. I wanted to pick it up today, but apparently Gamestop.com had the date wrong. =P

All the dates that Gamestop lists are ship dates. So it always comes out the day after its listed on their website.
Found some more info on the reason the PS3 version is going to be download only. Apparently SCEA has some kind of requirement that all games for their current generation console must have an English language track, which Agarest War does not. Aksys is still being cagey about it and hasn't confirmed anything either way, but that's more reasonable than the other rumor floating around.

Well, assuming that most games (and DVDs and CDs) come out on Tuesday, and most of the online listings are a Tuesday, with most of this week's releases listed for 4/27, I thought I could safely assume that it may be one of those weird ones that was coming out on a Monday.

If you think about it Agarest War is a niché game and is targeted at a certain level of hardcore perver--gamer. So its not like RoAW has anything else to compete with.

Okay, about an hour in and it rocks. The combat system is pretty in-depth and the storyline is solid so far.
I'll do a full review at a later time for the hell of it.
