Right, well I was just trying to get a Death Note wallpaper, when I found this little Thingy.


I think that this will be crap, in my opinion, Death Note could only be done with Japanese people, and by doing it with a really gay looking guy as (I'm assuming) Light, they will probably just end up killing it for a lot of people, especially me. All I want is a proper series of films, based solely on the Manga, done with the original cast from the Japanese film adaptations, (mainly because Tetsuya Fujiwara was awesome as Light, and Erika Toda is simultaneously great as Misa, and hot) which have been dubbed over well in English, and by well I don't mean dubbed over by some randomers nobody has ever heard of and who have retarded voices, I mean dubbed over by a few good actors and actresses. Maybe some no-name actors dubbing here and there, just to give it that feeling of still being foreign, you know?

So, summary, good films please, all based on books, bringing in all of the characters in the Manga, done with the original film cast, dubbed by people with non-retarded voices. PLEASE HOLLYWOOD, DON'T KILL MY PRECIOUS DEATH NOTE!!!!

Unless it is set in a different time-frame altogether, in which case I WANT RYUK AT THE VERY LEAST!!!!

After watching the series once, and then getting bored of it when I tried to watch it a second time at a later date, I think I'm done with it. Sure, Death Note is awesome. Once. It loses all the suspense and mystery when you know what's going to happen next. So, really, I don't care what they do with it, its not like I HAVE to go see it. I've seen the original, I suggest watching the original.

And to those of you who say that the live action films were good, I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you there. They were terrible. But that's why I liked them.

I suppose it could be Mikami and Takada... But it's unlikely... Hm. Maybe it's focusing on the Near arc? I can't imagine it would, and if it did, I imagine a lot of fans would flip out over it, but it's better than the alternative that they're getting the best damn characters wrong.

Again, I think it could be set in a different time frame, and again if it is, it better have Ryuk in it. After all, if you watch the second live action film (which, by the way, I did last night, and I love it) it ends with Ryuk flying around another building in Japan-land, whichever city Misa is in at the time. They could have taken it up from there, still, I'll look into it and give you guys updates as I find them.

Oh, and please, for my sake alone, please don't mention anything from the last 2 books of the Manga, as I haven't read those ones yet. This does mean that, if it comes to it, this may have to be declared a Ren free zone, as he is the only one I don't trust on the spoilers front. Love you really Ren.

The main problem "otaku" will have with this movie (besides the obvious Americanization of the concept) is introducing people who don't "understand" the series or didn't watch it before it came out in the US because dubbing sucks, blah, blah, blah. They won't be experiencing the "true" version of Death Note, etc...well you know what, its a japanese cartoon (anime if you wanna be a complete anal dick over it), and sure, we like it, but we're a fucking minority (partially, because the majority of the people who enjoy japanese stuff here are complete and utter morons in the outside world (see comments above about being retarded)).
