Well you obviously haven't investigated into wth the kessel run even is. See the kessel run is full of black holes, meaning that the shorter the distance you travel the faster you'll be faster by cutting down distance. The kessel run is in all 18 parsecs, but Han Solo managed to cut that down to 12 because he skirted a black hole cluster.Chalky wrote:"You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon?…It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs." - Han Solo. Its funny because a parsec is actually an amount of distance, not time. Parsec: 3.25 lightyears.
He was never even referring to the ship's speed.
Expanded universe writers... I know.
Those guys are great at pulling explanations out their asses. GL just thought it sounded spacey originally

If that is true than what was even the point of talking about the Millenium Falcon? If he was just talking about the route he went on, not about the speed of his ship. If I remember that scene correctly ( I probably don't, and Wookieepedia didn't help) Luke and Obi-Wan asked about the speed of the Falcon, so by just saying: "Oh, I did the run in less time than usual, not because of the speed of my ship, but only because I found a better route." Doesn't really answer the question.m3nace wrote:Well you obviously haven't investigated into wth the kessel run even is. Yes, but that route requires you have a faster-than-average ship to transverse it. What it means is that he was able to get closer to the edge of the black holes than the other ships because his ship was able to maintain a high enough velocity to avoid being pulled in by the gravity. It's essentially a roundabout way of saying that his ship is balls fast.

This was on a loading screen for inFamous, which shows random quotes related to karma, good/evil, etc between days in the game. Thought it tied into the theme of the game nicely.

"I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts!" - One of my friends half way through a game on Black Ops when everything on the game chat had entered the "awkward silence" point of the game. Needless to say, I lol'd.

My friend Paddy would love that quote. He regularly labels them "filthy monarchs".

Loved both of these, also from inFamous.

Anything GLaDOS says in Portal 2, I just bought it today for the 360 and have been happily chuckling away.

"That was a close one - I almost surrendered completely to peace and pacifism - how repugnant. Conclusion: Still there was a brief moment where I felt like I almost understood why some meatbags choose peace and friendship over a high-powered blaster carbine. Query: Now, are there any other horrors you wish to try and insert in my system, or is your electronic butchery done?"
