Meh, whatever, I'm more interested in the thread then you'r cast-iron thread creation...
However, if we were to have something in common, I might be more inclined to be interested in you...

Ireland is not plagued with the social deformities which America suffers, silly child.

Awww, bless, he's trying to insult the Americans now, how sweet.
As I was saying, Ignore the psychotic Hillbilly, for he merely is a psychotic Hillbilly.
I think it might be a good idea for this thread to be locked, since it has turned from a well meaning, happy thread to wish our almighty overlords a joyous celebration of the anniversary of the events of their births, into a pointless and endless flaming thread, in which there seems to be very few rules.
Still, whatever the said almighty overlords deem it is right to do is obviously right!
Oh and EDIT: Ren, I don't know if you realise this, but the whole Hillbilly thing is merely a stereotype, just like the stereotype of all Irishmen being violent alcoholics, and all Englishmen being overly polite, tea-drinking immigrant-haters.

However, Ren does make a valid point...
"Hillbilly is a term referring to people who dwell in rural,
mountainous areas of the United States."
Unless Ren has for some reason moved into the Appalachian cultural region...
a "Hillbilly", he is not.
About the "alcoholic and violent Irishmen" stereotype... well, that's another story, but I don't think that defines him very accurately either.

Meh, have you seen the most recent picture of him in the member photos thread?
That's my reason...
And about the "Violent alcoholics" part, I didn't want to use that stereotype to insult him, merely to demonstrate that, if we are working on stereotypes, then Ireland suffers from a completely different set of "social deformities". As does England, although, we do have the common courtesy to call our ones immigrants!

Stereotypes are there for a reason. The Irish one is very much true, violent drinkers sounds right. The stereotype of Americans being fat and stupid is also pretty accurate.
Honestly though, why point out something's a stereotype when it so clearly is one? Are you celebrating the fact that you've just realised that?
zoidberg rules wrote:Meh, have you seen the most recent picture of him in the member photos thread?
Lol @ you denying you've been made a fool of when you quite clearly have. It's made even worse since it's someone I don't know who was doing it.

Deformity: disfigurement - an appearance that has been spoiled or is misshapen; "there were distinguishing disfigurements on the suspect's back"; "suffering from facial disfiguration"
Violent alcoholism is not a deformity. A disease which affects a lot of Irish people, sure. Get it right.
