Sonic Robo Blast 2

AKA Best Sonic game ever.
It's a fangame using a modified Doom Engine. It's based around the classic series, so Sonic's chibi, no new characters, Eggman's still wearing pajamas, etc.
Reasons why it is the best game-
1. The level design is pretty creative and is not PITS EVERYWHERE like a few newer sonic games.
2. The three main "Sonic Team" guys are playable and they're actually somewhat balanced.
3. Sonic is actually fast without being uncontrollable.
4. You can mod in your own maps and characters if you know how (I do not).
5. ONLINE PLAY.
