I wouldn't say I'd get happiness or joy from NOT being mauled. That's one of my general aims for life. It's not as if every day I go without being mauled I think "This day was a success, I'm overjoyed."

Well, it's more like nearly being hit by a car but being narrowly missed. Wouldn't that bring you relief/happiness?
