Yeah, the one they used for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas was fine for its time, but it is outdated and occasionally glitchy.

I have to say, Oblivion has to be the best game i've ever played.

They made three games on it. =P

Uhh... no? I dunno. I don't think so.

Besides, I 'ave an oss-tray-lien ax-ent.

Oh aye. Me too. I'm happy to acknowledge their flaws, but their end product always has significantly more awesome then crappiness. The ME3 trailer had me doing the omg-omg-omg dance in my head.

I didn't get that one when Mr Young first put it up and I don't get it now. I've always thought Bioware's dialog was pretty damn excellent. (And a good thing too, since it makes up about 60% of their content.)

Unless he's referring to the way they railroad the player's responses. That never bothered me for some reason.

Notice it says "In Heaven Bioware writes the dialogue" as well as in Hell.

Uberbeard, the engine was over 4 years old when New Vegas came out. Even though it was 3 games, that's still 2 games more than it should have been. It's been reiterated by pretty much everyone I've discussed Oblivion/Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas with that the next Bethesda game would have to have a new engine or it would be a failure on their part.

I wanted to cry while watching this. This is all I've ever wanted out of a video game. Fallout 3 and New Vegas were good, but really unpolished and, frankly, really crappy at times. Never played Oblivion, but I always meant to.

Please, Bethesda, don't screw this one up.

Ooooh + aaaah.

Looks like fun. Looks like they did a bunch of work on their grafix, too.

Hope they hired some Obsidian writers...

Here's hoping Bethesda will make this game more like Morrowind than Oblivion (having played all the Elder Scrolls games, Oblivion was a HUGE letdown)
What seems to be the main theme is basically a variation of the one from TES 3, and it's awesome.

So far I have been pretty determined to not like this game. (Generic! Boring! Yet another Tolkien rip-off! The writing will probably be crap!) Or at least maintain a healthy degree of indifference.

But... well, that new trailer... yeah. Colour me curious. Not sold, not by a long shot, but my interest has certainly been piqued.

Y'know, in terms of games, 2011 is actually starting to look kind of awesome. As in, better then 2007 awesome.

Extremely good sound + music in that trailer. I recommend watching the trailer with the sound off. That allows you to judge the gameplay/graphic elements shown without being influenced by the music.

The cutscene stuff (the relief) looks great. The outdoor scenes, and the 1st-person hands, look great. There's subtle particle effects and movement in there (birds in the trees, clouds of steamy breath, blood spatter), and what looks to be very nice-looking real-time shadows. However, the textures look a bit blurry on all inside scenes, and whenever monsters/animals get too close. Some animation are a bit iffy. We see very little first-person combat, and it doesn't seem to be that exiting (but then I didn't like Morrowind).

Kind-of-sort-of spoilers, but yeah, pretty recent video. Thought I should update the thread. Shows some new screenshots.

I hope they make hand-to-hand less useless. I want to see a Nord stand on a dragon's corpse and wipe blood and bits of scales off his knuckles.
