Exactly what it says on the tin, posting twice in quick succession, I would at this point refer you to when Spartan_x did it, but, frankly, I can't be bothered to look for it.

I don't believe anybody put the ignorant poster on the same level as the spambot. In any case, we just tell people not to double post. We ban spammers.

Meh, nine times out of ten you can just edit your post to add in further information, the only time a double post will really be useful is to necro an old thread, just so long as you add productively, and con't just say "lol". That's the sort of time when the banhammer will be applied liberally as needed.

Or when you pull a Spartan_x, let's face it, I know that guy and I can't work out why he did that!

If there is a one-time issue, I'll just remove the latter post.
If it happens again, I'll leave a warning.

It's not really my job to ban people for double-posting, though. It's not that I don't want to, I just don't know if I'm authorized. A decent penalty after the warning would be a weeks ban or so, I think.

In the long run, your a moderator, you don't have to worry about authorisation, if anybody tries to mess with you you can just ban them!
