So yeah, I'm sure everyone remembers the beauty of the CryTek 2 engine featured in Crysis and Crysis: Warhead. Say hello to CryTek 3. Due out in March for PC, PS3, and 360. There's a multiplayer beta going on right now up until February 4th; it's open to anyone with a Gold account on XBL and free to play.

Looks pretty cool, I was speaking to a friend yesterday whilst he was playing the demo, and it sounde pretty awesome, from what I could make out, it's an FPS with a fair few free running elements, which sounds pretty cool to me. I would download the demo and play it for myself, but we have a 10Gb monthly download cap (Fucking thing!) and most of that is used throughout the month by my playing online.

The demo is really good.
The 'perks' improve each of your abilities in different ways. Its pretty fun. A bit laggy for now and frame rate drops every now and again, but still

The Crysis 2 demo is pretty cool, but it pretty much feels like Call of Duty with overpowered abilities. Its decent fun, but the weapons and abilities really feel out of balance sometimes. Also, I'm not sure what it is but the landscapes and the player characters tend to blend into each other. Basically, its not bad, but I don't see anything that really makes it stand out.

The PC version is ... different. Not sure how the final will be; but having tested an beta it's OK. And for a mere ~35€ - it isn't too pricey. There's some re playability available through modifying your nanosuit. So at worst I'd think it'll be mediocre.
Leaning has been redesigned (probably because of the consoles) and works by toggling your ironsight at a corner - which locks your character in place, while you're still able to steer to aim some.
The game also feels more static (as in not as much dynamic destruction possibilities) and also more linear. Still the maps seem to be quite large - with rooftop action etc.
PS. I've only had the possibility to test the singleplayer -campaign.

Really? Have you been playing the Xbox 360 version? Cause this was mostly what we PC users got:
Though when we (as in me and a friend of mine) actually were able to join a game together (cause the friends-system doesn't work, so you can't actually "invite" him to one), it was fairly enjoyable.

Here's a great review of the PC demo for those without supercomputers

"Look at this! This is pathetic!"
I couldn't agree more.

"Gamer is somehow below advanced and hardc- I don't know, it's just dumb."
Hahaha, he's fantastic.
Still though, I loved the Crysis 2 demo. Obviously he's another Yahtzee so he's there to criticise (the name gives it away) so I'll take what he says with a pinch of salt. The demo for the XBox 360 was fantastic fun.
"Some guy's already got some games in, that means he must be a wizard of some description..."
I love this guy so far. Hahaha.
"You might say 'Oh it's the glorious PC gaming master race', not really."
Respect + 1.
Okay, just checked all his other videos, all videos about World Of Warcraft, respect and interest well and truly evaporated.

He's awesome, I really recommend watching his and The YogCast's Magicka play through. It's comedy gold, in my opinion.
Simon - "Okay, I'll just..."
Biscuit - "It.. just.. no, NO, don't point it that way-"
Simon - "It's spazzing out a little bit..."
Biscuit - "No! Simon! Simon! Simon!"
Simon - "It's fine! It's all guud, it's all guud."
That part always have me cracking up.

Their "Shadow of Israphel" story is really well performed.
I love Simon's random voice overs.
