Have you edited the config file or have you downloaded SUM launcher. Because those are the ways to run the game with higher resolution than default, unless you are playing in windowed mode then you can maximizing the game window like any other window.
Also, do you get any error messages when you are trying to play the default levels, not the gladiator mode?
When you do, can you post the error messages or make a screenshot and upload them as an attachment.

constant 60fps Geforce GTX680

screenwidth: 1920
screenheight: 1080
fullscreen: true
vsync: true
multisample: 1
anisotropy: 1

edit:
Discovered the graphic options in the SUMLauncher.
Anti-Aliasing 8x
Antisotropic-Filtering: 16x

Still runs smooth with 60fps. Really beautiful graphic :)

Geforce GTX 460 1GB
Works, but random crashes in Arena mode after a fight, sometimes after 3 fights and sometimes after 50.

I find it highly unlikely that your GPU could be responsible for that.

GTX 680m in SLI mode works on Alpha 198, extremely smooth with a constant framerate above 200 fps.

I was on my friend's desktop, wich is really nice. He was using a IntelCard, and the game lagged out a ton. Just one more reason to get an Nvidia card. ;D I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB, and most games can run fantasticly. On a mac laptop, too! Also, Haidawe, I'm thinking that that is just a bug because my mac does the same thing.

It also gives me the warning about using an intel card at startup, wondering if that happens on Windows and Linux as well....
Yep. My friend was using widows. IntelCards are crappy because they are just built into the processer, not acutually seperate from it like Nvidia is.

HD7870 works, but tanks when physics objects just as fabric and foliage are close to the player.
