Steam Trading Cards for Overgrowth

Post by furryreaper » Sat Jun 29, 2013 8:53 am

Recently the steam trading cards have been introduced.

Therefore I was thinking: Wouldn't it be fun to have steam trading cards from Overgrowth and Receiver on steam.

Comment on your thoughts.

I'd rather see achievements first to be honest. But overgrowth has to be recognized by steam before that can happen. The only way to run it through steam right now is as a 3rd party app.

Overgrowth is already recognized by steam.
The game will be released for it when it is finished.
Achievements is also something that would be fun to see in the game, but they are almost certain to implement those. Seeing they have already got a deal with steam.

I don't know about that, I search overgrowth in steam and get nothing. I have it as a "non-steam game shortcut" but maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Hahahahahhaa
No, silly dude, the game itself has been approved, there's no need for it to go through Greenlight.
It is just that the game isn't finished, and has not been added officially to the store (hence you can't buy it through there).

They have an early alpha beta thingy so maybe they could put overgrowth on there.

If I recall correctly they thought about it, but argued that it would be too much additional work (esp. in the time when they released a new alpha every week).

I do wonder if magically turning the SUMLauncher into canon official business would help to dramatically decrease that workload.

Unfortunately, SUMLauncher uses the hard work of the Devs, and not the other way around... Would be cool if it was "official" though.

As for trading cards, I'm pretty "meh" about Steam to begin with, so trading cards there seem pretty distracting from what I want out of a game. - I want to play Overgrowth, not "Steam Meta DRM Game"
