The Bugs Thread
Re: The Bugs Thread
Are you on Windows XP 64-bit? If so, install the 32-bit version of the C++ runtime instead
Re: The Bugs Thread
Maybe is you install C++ 2005 SP1 runtime instead.

Re: The Bugs Thread
Bam! That was it. Installing the C++ 2005 SP1 version fixed the problem. Thanks for your help!

Win XP Pro 32-bit SP3 - nVidia GeForce 8800 GT- Intel Pentium D 3.2 GHz - 3.5 GB RAM
I got an unexpected crash in the newest alpha. I had been playing with the tools and had the select tool out. I double clicked a piece of the house and then started moving forward to get closer to the floating cube. I moved through the selected piece and the program stopped responding.
and @marmorek I couldn't type anything in multiplayer chat window either if thats what you're talking about. I may not have clicked the right spot or something though.

Re: The Bugs Thread
I had that problem but somehow fixed it by installing it to a different directory.idbeu wrote:I'm getting the same error a few others have:

I've installed the latest .NET framework (3.5) as well as the "Visual C++ Redistributable Setup 2008". This is running on Windows XP with all the latest updates (including SP3).
EDIT: Oh, and I'm running Alpha 6
I installed it in C:/Overgrowth instead of the default.

Alpha 7 Bug
First of all, thank you for making the UI available on Mac OS X.
Now, on to bugs.
The first few happened on my initial launching of the Beta and haven't cropped up since. When launching, it complains about invalid framebuffer on different lines, then one scene is written across the whole screen. Not just the window, the whole big screen.
The new UI seems to have a bit of a shadow, like the mask didn't completely work right. The attached screenshot shows it off.

Re: The Bugs Thread
Thanks, I am aware of the issue with the "masking effect" around the map-palette widget on Mac OSX.

Re: The Bugs Thread
Hmm, I'm running Alpha 8 on Windows XP 32-bit, with an AMD dual core processor (3.2GHz speed), 2GB of RAM, and a 512MB GeForce 8600 graphics card.
For the most part the Alpha runs fine, but when I try to add an object by clicking "Add Object" and then clicking somewhere on the ground, the alpha crashes. (I'll try and find the exact error details next time it happens). But it's easily replicated and has happened every time I've attempted it so far. Just so you know

Re: The Bugs Thread
Well my bug is not a technical one:
I cant use the alpha version because I cant enter my key! The reason:
I cant type a "/" on my german keyboard layout (I could actualy, but not in the alpha)
If you dont support german keyboard in the alpha - fine, but why is there no copy and paste, to past the key into the game? Or simply a Mac OS X / Windows Dialog box to enter the key.
Lugaru is such ja great game, and I want to help you with Overgrowth, but well... you are fighting very well against me

Re: The Bugs Thread
In Mac OS X, the alpha code (including e-mail address, followed by a line break) ends up in a file named “localcode.txt” at ~/Library/Application Support/Lugaru 2/. I don’t know what the corresponding location is for Windows.Garret wrote:I cant use the alpha version because I cant enter my key! The reason:

Re: The Bugs Thread
In Alpha 9, I still can't type anything in the console. Also, when I try to load an object, it says "Object name not found".
Re: The Bugs Thread
All systems (this applies to every screen shot I've seen)
Perspective correction is way too extreme. These images were sliced from some of Aubrey's test shots. It's the same house, but it's cut from different parts of the screen. When scaled (not squished) down to the same size, they look awkward or different.
