Unofficial Overgrowth a137, weekly build

Post by Jeff » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:37 am

The unofficial, Overgrowth a137 leaked build is here!

(watch in hd)

Changelog:
- Subpixel stippling for smoother motion blur on new graphics cards
- Decal color tinting
- Keyboard keys to pick up and drop weapons
- Can only throw after active block
- Improved head look
- Improved weapon stance animation modifiers
- Improved stab lines
- Fixed bug with texture conversion
- Fixed sliding bug when switching characters in ragdoll mode
- Fixed "movement object -1 not found" bug
- Softened weapon whoosh sounds while equipped
- Disabled grabbing or holding weapons while unconscious
- Fixed problem with switching characters while holding weapons
- Fixed 'superjump' problem when moving up steep slopes

A "leaked build" is when John and I grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David and Aubrey but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly!

*NEW* If you find any bugs, please email a full description along with your system specs to [email protected]. We are testing out a new bug system.

*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not even polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps not intended for public consumption.

To download the alpha, use one of these links:

If you have updated from an old version of Overgrowth, your config file is probably out of date. You need to delete your current config file, and have it recreated from the new defaults.

Delete "config.txt" from the following location:

On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Lugaru 2/Data/config.txt
On Windows: Documents/Wolfire/Overgrowth/Data/config.txt
On Linux: N/A (yet :( )

Then when you relaunch Overgrowth, the updated config file will be re-created.

If you want to, you can manually update the config file by adding the following lines:
key[item]: e
key[drop]: q

they should be added below the line: key[down]: s

using the update:

Compiling const float _spurt_delay_amount
    WARN: aschar.as (183, 35) Conversion from double to float, possible loss of precision
Compiling void LedgeInfo::CheckLedges()
    WARN: ledgegrab.as (392, 17) Unreachable code
Compiling void Update(bool, int)
    WARN: aschar.as (267, 65) Conversion from double to float, possible loss of precision
    WARN: aschar.as (267, 41) Conversion from double to float, possible loss of precision
Compiling void HandlePickUp()
    ERR: aschar.as (2696, 8) No matching signatures to 'WantsToDropItem()'
    ERR: aschar.as (2696, 26) No conversion from 'int' to 'bool' available.
Compiling void ApplyCameraCones(vec3)
    WARN: aschar.as (2954, 42) Conversion from double to float, possible loss of precision
    WARN: aschar.as (2957, 53) Conversion from double to float, possible loss of precision

ps: feature suggestions:
-commandline level loading
-including all levels in the selector menu
-including a level with the new art assets for playing around :)

I've downloaded multiple of these updates, and they just do not work on windows...I have downloaded nvtt.dll, and 2 other random files that a buddy helped me set up. But I am not going to do this for the next million files it says I am missing, because there appear to be a lot. What are we supposed to do??
