I'm going to seed the linux build. I can't run it but I'll gladly seed it.

Just installed the Alpha180 build on my Fedora 17 laptop. Once I twigged that the installer required oodles of space in /tmp (that's going to be a deal breaker in the future if people start mapping /tmp to tmpfs with a 4Gb limit) it starts up fine.

However, performance is somewhere between 0 and 2 fps. I can play Amnesia full screen 1600x900 on this laptop, so it's not a driver issue. It jerks around for a while, then seems to get five frames quickly in a row, then jerks around again. CPU utilization is about 50% according to Conky.

8-core Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 820 @ 1.73GHz
nVidia Corporation GT216 [Quadro FX 880M] (rev a2)
Nvidia driver 295.53

I'm getting this error in my Linux install, during map loading, using hd5650m and radeon open-source driver:

"Error(s) in Data/GLSL/secondterrain.frag
0:35(55): error: Arrays cannot be out or inout parameters in GLSL 1.10"

Maybe a driver issue ?

Overgrowth Linux version works fine except for this all-looks-black effect.

This is how it looks in my ATI Radeon HD 3450 using latest ATI drivers for Linux.

jose1711 wrote:arch linux here. i don't know what happened to this a180 but all maps are taking place during night - i only can see shadows. then rabbit sometimes seems to get stuck in midair and the fps is really bad (already lowered details). a179 has been better in this respect.. anyone else could confirm seeing similar?
The lighting is fine for me, though the performance really drops when there are active ragdolls. While there are none, it runs somewhat decent.

I've got a Core i3 (2x2,13GHz), a GeForce M330 and 4GB of RAM in here. Using the proprietary driver.

Awesome update. Awesome update. Awesome update. Now combat is incredibly smooth, and ragdolling a bunch of characters has a minuscule fps hit.
Some minor things I've noticed in the 30 or so minutes of playing around is I can't start overgrowth from a search for the .exe in the Windows 7 start menu due to a missing .dll that's in the OG directory, and I was getting a couple of errors with the game failing random sounds a few level loads and more often failing to load a soundgroup with the directory of my overgrowth cache with no reference to a specific file, but clearing the cache seems to have fixed it.

Gentoo

I'm on Gentoo amd64, and the nixstaller seems to be crashing for me at the stage where, after extracting the executable, it verifies that all necessary dependencies are installed, only to fail with a lua error "deps.lua 528: attempt to compare string with nil".

I'll mess around and see what additional information I can gather. Oh well.

Really solved the problem, thanks a lot !! But after the graphics was displayed (all black :( ) for a little time a similar error appeared:

"Error(s) in Data/GLSL/dirtpuff.frag
0:40(55): error: Arrays cannot be out or inout parameters in GLSL 1.10"

Yeah my post mentions you should ignore that one by clicking Ok.
