Something I've noticed about the Dynamic Light objects

Post by Constance » Sat May 07, 2016 12:57 am

Wow, these dynamic light objects are really cool. These could seriously add to the atmosphere of a level.

Oh.

Hopefully you'll be able to increase the radius thru parameters and/or disable the bounding boxes of the light objects, because this is a 'little' difficult to use.

So I guess I have to wait for the DRM-free versions to be released in order for a223 to appear in the SUMlauncher right?

Did you send a bug report to [email protected] ?

We tested saving levels on the team a while ago and it seemed to work for everyone, so there might be some issue specific to you.

Silverfish could you give me a response to why aren't the alphas showing up in the SUMLauncher?

Whenever there is a new alpha it says "Installed Alpha: a2xx" or whatever, and the new one doesn't show up.

When I download the changes only ZIP file and extract it to game folder then run SUMLauncher again, it still says a222 is installed.

Even if I delete and re-extract SUMLauncher and re-select the .exe file same thing.

The only way for a223 to show up is to completely re-download the game.

Can this be fixed or SUMLauncher be updated at all?

I don't know, ScarXL. SUMLauncher is not made by Wolfire, but we do what we can to keep it compatible. Unfortunately they do not have a programmer on the project right now to fix stuff.

ScarXL: At the bottom of the first post in this topic there is a link to a zip that contains only the changes from the previous alpha to this one, that's the diffs file.

From my time developing maps for Therium-2, I've noticed three things about performance:
  • 1. Fear is the mind-killer.
    2. The biggest reason framerate drops are a thing is because of AI; I've literally killed enough AI in-game on a level to reduce framerate.
    3. For some reason my game is locked to 62 FPS. I have no idea when that happened.

Thats just a kill for FPS for a feature that I actually hate, in any game.
