Ideas to get around this?

Post by Chainsaw man » Mon Nov 03, 2008 3:54 am

Ok... I got this Bad Boy installed, Once I tryed opening it, it came up with a Pop up saying

: OpenGL error

On line 1538 of model.cpp:
Invalid framebuffer operation

The only clickable thing is OK

When I click this It comes up with a diferent Didget in the same line.
The Number 1608.

Clicking OK opens up another one of the last Windows.
The Phoenix Program how ever remains grey.

I am using Windows Vista Home Basic as an OS
Acording to the System specs given in the Device manager:
I am Using an INVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
The Computer says it has two ADM Athlon 64 X2 Core Prossesor 3600+

Edit: When Closing all the stuff on the Mini bar, The Windows error sound plays, but hangs for a moment, it eventuly stops though.
I have not gotten past this. Im gonna try and Upgrade my Grans computer to have Vista SP1 and see if that makes a difference, but guys, please tell me if you can come up with an idea on how to get around this. Ill report back If it works.

What are the contents of your config.txt file? (It's located in "C:\Program Files\Wolfire\Overgrowth\Data\")

Try changing these settings, one at a time (0 means 'off', 1 means 'on'):
- fullscreen
- vsync
- post_effects
- shaders

Oh, well thats just GREAT!
Edit: Im allso having a Problem with my Autherization code.
Some one wanna tell me the deal with that?

Edit: Never mind got around that...

Edit2 : Ah, I got things operational, I personaly do not have the software to deal with the shaders or something, eather that, or the shaders are casuing crashing on my PC.

Edit3: Ok, My main Frame rate is 39-33 at average. Is this Poor?

Oh, right, sorry...

my Configuration, what is says on the Document:

screenwidth 800
screenheight 600
fullscreen 0
vsync 0
multisample 4
anisotropy 0
post_effects 0
shaders 0
bindkey quit esc
bindkey slow tab
bindkey fast \
bindkey crouch lshift
bindkey jump space
bindkey console `
bindkey left a
bindkey right d
bindkey up w
bindkey down s
authload

Edit:
I think I should Probobly Try Full screen, I think last time I did, something happend...

Ok, There is a bug when Loading a model, (other than it wont load one, it says that the model is not a paticular one, Ill try to get it again) In Full screen there is the typical loss of Mouse function.
I find that my Frame rate is Increase in Fullscreen mode as well. There is a ubstantual droip in frame rate when the load window comes up, but I think that can be Expected.

I usualy loose control of the camra (WSAD included) when I go out of the window, but I find clicking on the screen repetitivly helps as it may be an effect of reentering the window (I will keep testing this out).

I have also Notede In general, if you deselect everything during a Camras Mouse movment Freeze, you can usualy get the Camra to work.

if I was to make a segestion to the Dev team, I would segest making XYZ Axies Arrows like allot of editorrs, and some 3D art Programs use to move things. it would allow presise movment and make work on the Level maker Easyer...

Entry 2 (november 04 2008):

I have discoverd that The Editor dose not like to have its models alterd.
Yet again it has booted me out, This time it was after moving and panning the Camra around the model for a while, it was probobly in the Negitive sizes as it was turned inside out. this is already known, but Now I know it will ocure In Full screen.

Something else I have failed to tell, is that every time I start the game, Another Error has come up for me, this time not the 1538 or 1608, but it says: On line 350 of engine.cpp: Invalid value
