it's a theory, theories aren't true or false, they're not even proven or unproven, if they were proven they'd no longer be theories. and if they weren't proven than they're just a theory, and if they're disproven, no one cares about them, naturally there are tons of variables surrounding them such as parts of them being disproven and other parts being proven. but I don't think we can possibly hold a belief that it's right or wrong just because it is a theory.
