Unofficial, alpha 33 weekly build
Unofficial, alpha 33 weekly build
The unofficial, alpha 33 leaked build is here!
A "leaked build" is when John and I literally grab the latest SVN build and package it up for you guys. It has a ton of known bugs, so don't worry if it doesn't work for you. It is not condoned by David, Phillip, and Aubrey, but we want to keep you guys in the loop and give you stuff to play with regularly! Please report bugs in Trac! http://trac.wolfire.net/spf/overgrowth
*NOTE* Please remember that these are unofficial alphas and they do not represent a finished product. They are not even polished builds, just straight up raw development dumps not intended for public consumption.
New in this version: (see blog)
Also, press F to toggle wireframe stuff. Press 8 and 9 to toggle the Rabbot. Press ` for the console. Type Console.help() for the console commands. Press b to spawn a physics box, right click to drag it around. Press r to spawn a ragdoll and F1 for WebKitten.
We are testing out BitTorrent DNA! Please let me know how that goes.
Windows: (direct) (torrent) (BitTorrent DNA)
Mac OS X: (direct) (torrent) (BitTorrent DNA)

Note! No PPC, 10.4 Tiger, or Linux support at the moment -- we are waiting on Google Chrome for these. We are not sure when this will happen. Linux support is on the horizon though!

Re: Unofficial, alpha 33 weekly build
A few errors on startup:
Windows 7 RC
Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
Nvida 8600 GS M
This is the first time I've tried it on Windows 7 so I'm not sure if it existed in previous versions.
On line 634 of terrain.cpp:
Framebuffer - unsupported
A few seconds waitOn line 280 of shaders.cpp:
Invalid framebuffer operation
Then the game appears with now terrain. It just shows the skybox and the models that are in the level. You can still move about. On line 1885 of model.cpp:
out of memory

Update you graphic driver if this does not help kick your pc really hard in the ass and install a "normal" windows.

Will there be a list of known bugs?
I always have many bugs to report but I don't want to report bugs you've already fixed.

That list unfortunately is not even near the full list of bugs I can find. But when I talk to devs it looks like they know about some of the bugs I find.

Re: Unofficial, alpha 33 weekly build
haha, I loaded up the second level and made the rock a physics object. it slid through the ground. I loaded rabbot and ran past the cool new cat art assets, and jumped off the edge of the map. The rock was slowly bouncing up and down, going straight through the invisible floor. It was very surreal.

GDer, you know where to find us -- just ask John and he'll tell you whether or not it's a new bug.

Clicking the "calculating shadows"-button magically turns on the ground texture.
