Having trouble with saving object groups

I recently pre-ordered and got my first alpha (a35) and I have been really enjoying it, the only problem is that my object group saving seems to be broken. I make a bunch of object, a couple of pillars in this case, and then ctrl+g to group them and then ctrl+shift+s to save them as a group. I enter the name and then save it. When it saves though it saves as an .xml doc with just this in it "<objects \>" no other text. When i try to load it OG crashes. Has anyone else had this problem, if so did you find a solution.
