[Tutorial] Creating your first map
Re: [Tutorial] Creating your first map
Hey SteelRaven7, do you think you could add this tutorial as a Steam guide?
Re: [Tutorial] Creating your first map
Will this tutorial be updated again? The tutorial is labelled as having 7 parts, but there are only 3.

That's an excellent idea. I'll have a go at that.akazi wrote:Hey SteelRaven7, do you think you could add this tutorial as a Steam guide?
Seems I bit of more than I could chew . Most of the last points really up to stuff like the SUM-launcher nowadays though.Blackavar wrote:Will this tutorial be updated again? The tutorial is labelled as having 7 parts, but there are only 3.

Hello Overgrowth Community
First I'd like to thank SteelRaven7 for this very helpful tutorial thread.
My question is:
Does somebody have a rough idea of how many i can build without getting any lags ? Because when i made a floor, to have an even ground to build on, it already started lagging when i tried to play on it. (The floor was made out of about 600+ blocks).
But maps like cat_stronghold, which is pretty full built too, work just fine without any lags

Re: [Tutorial] Creating your first map
That depends on your system, but 600 stone-like blocks should be no problem. Do you already have npcs in the level? Too much npcs can cause lag easily. What about grass in the terrain? If you don't need it, but have it you should remove it.DasHuhn wrote:Hello Overgrowth Community

Also make sure to make good use of the scaling tool. It helps to take four blocks and just use one instead.

How do I play others maps PLZ help
Re: [Tutorial] Creating your first map
The easiest way is to use SUMLauncher: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14201POKIE wrote:How do I play others maps PLZ help
The thread contains a video that explains everything.
Re: [Tutorial] Creating your first map
Code: Select all
is_dead="0">
If checked to 1, then the character will spawn in the level immediately dead. So, isn't that nice?
Also noteworthy is this parameter:
It does exactly what it says on the tin; 'Static'. If checked, the character will refuse to enter combat, or raise awareness at all (unless you bump into them, in which case, they'll get spooked, but not do anything).
