[Map] Rooftops

Post by Gyrth » Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:07 pm

It is setup as a speed race map. Just add some must visit hotspots and a finish. Or just jump around. Jump up jump up and get down.

Use:
- Extract the rooftops folder in the [Overgrowth install directory]/Data/Mods folder.
- Open up Overgrowth and type "rooftops.xml" and press enter.

Map looks very cool and citylike. Lots of variation to the buildings. Though the water cisterns kind of stood out being the only non squarish shapes in the skyline. Anyway great fun just jumping around feeling like a badass superhero watching over the city.

Love the new map! :)

In the menu mod (but you already knew that... I just make sure to subscribe to every map thread, in case there are updates ;) )

This map is wonderously wonderful. It really means something when David tweets both of your maps.

David should make a button to save finished levels as a single .obj, but still keeping the .xml in case you want to edit it. That would make levels of this scale work in the game, and if it's optimized, they could be even bigger(although, at a point, too big could just be boring, but it depends on how optimized the ai are. GTA ninja rabbit kung fu style would be pretty amazing.)

Again, great job. It reminds me of Mirrors edge and Portal. Thats a very good thing.

Wow!! This level is spectacular! After working with Blender for a little bit, that blows my mind that this level is a single object. All the jumps/climbs are just distanced perfectly.

I like that idea. :)

I wonder if it's possible to mod in grappling hooks that simulate the swinging mechanic from Spiderman 2...

This map isn't a single object. Only the untextured version of Big City is. But it still runs smooth.

That is all that I want from this game. Online or LAN multiplayer. Campaign would be nice, but mostly MP, I'm a competitive person :P

Same here! The day I can play this game online with my friends will be a good day indeed!

Anyway, about the map: It's way cool. Just took it for a test run and I really like the design. Fittingly, I happened to be listening to "Rooftop Run" from Sonic Generations while I ran around on this map :P

It would be cool if you made an upside down one. Nice level btw.

Every time I play one of your maps, my first though is: SO AMAZING
Then I think, I wish there was something to do on such a cool map...
And then I set up a million objective missions and play them all ^.^
