HERE'S THE TENGU 3.2 (4/feb/2013)

My character, the TENGU finally ready to download and try! ENJOY!

I'm just speechless Le Petit Docteur. Reading your WIP threads of making the character was incredibly exciting, but to actually see, and play as him in game...it's just incredible. He looks and plays awesome!

Looking forward to see what else you come up with!

Nice work, I really like him. It seems like he can't do roundhouse kicks though.

Hey Maybe you can help me with a project im doing, I want to make a complete story, and some characters, but if you can help with stuff like characters and etc we can finally have a story instead of just objectives to leap and kill. I made basic models of the characters but i do not know how to add depth and give that overgrowth definition, so their basically just square- aligned boxes. So far im working on a Lion, Tiger, Racoon (although someone already did one but cant find), Rabbit with flap ears, Badger, Rhino, and Female variations of the species.

Start small.

You are planning on doing more stuff than Wolfire. That's NOT a good idea! If you ever actually finish it, Overgrowth campaign will already be finished, too.

Here's a better idea: ask if you can make a Tengu-themed map (or campaign) with Le Petit Docteur, or without him but with his permission.

If it works well, you can continue doing other stuff afterwards.

i'll have to check that... he shares all the basic actions and animations of turner, so there's no reason he can't make a roundhouse kick, but man, who knows?, i've been more time trying to make him into a character that actually playing the game, more than half the maps i haven't played yet, and the combat system is still a bit strange for me... you recomend me to get a controller to play overgrowth?

a quote in a quote... yeah, we should think a little less now maybe... now i'll try to make a machinima with the engine, and then, i would like to make a TENGU THEMED map, like a ninja training in a mountain set.... sound fun.... The Rhino looks like a really nice idea...

Thanks man, really aprecciate your interest in it! :D

overgrowth is such a fun program, even just to enter the maps and run in them is like a therapeutic experience.... your avatar is a nice idea too.

There isn't much to check. All you want to do is edit tengu.xml in the characters folder. Currently he's making haymaker animation when moveing instead of roundhouse. So start from there.

Also i noticed that you still don't use transparent textures- that's a bad thing you know.

OK, there's the problem... i'm not using transparent textures? the tga files have their alpha channel to control the shininess of the material.... but there's a strange effect when you move away from the tengu, his texture gets all crazy.... is it this kind of problem? what's the best way to export the file? i've put it in 24 bits i think with RLE compression...

Try 32 bits with RLE compression. I've used that for items, and haven't noticed any errors yet.

YES! although this is awesome, do you have a naked model, as in no clothes, no porn, just a blank bird body? Not that this bad, i just like having a naked model incase you wanna edit him in some way?

i'll recheck the textures and see what happens.... by the way, about the moves, yeah, maybe they' aren't the same as Turner's beacuse the files are actually made based on the FOX and not directly turner.

mm.... i don't have a naked model, because in some ways i think it would be harder to resculpt different clothes over his "feathered" texture... what i do have is a base model of like 100 faces with no detail from wich i start over from to sculpt the details... that's the NAKEDIER it would get, unless someday maybe we need him nude, i don't know.
