[Map] Instinct

Post by Constance » Sat Oct 06, 2012 4:32 pm

I have been working on this map for a while now, and it's finished. It hasn't been released yet mostly due to procrastination. This map comes with a modified vignette shader from SteelRaven7. In order for it to work, you must turn on 'Post Effects'.

NOTE: It is not required for you to neutralize any enemies. You are only required to get the bag full of stuff and to bring it back.

This level looks great, but I can't get the alternate shaders to work. Even if I move them to the GLSL folder, they still have problems.

I've added it to the menu mod, but I'm tempted to change it so it uses the default shaders... thoughts?

hmmm. i'm not really sure.
*snaps fingers*
OH!
Go in Instinct.xml and edit the shader filepath so that it matches the area of where the vignette shader is.

NO! I think you forgot to turn on post effects. The shader can only run with post effects.

Unfortunately, neither of those are the problems. I fixed the locations of the shaders, and also moved them into the default GLSL file. I also have always had post effects and shaders turned on. I double checked them when I tried to launch the level, just to be sure, but they were definitely not the issue.

I get two errors about compiling the shaders when I try to run them:

I'm not sure how to solve this.

This level has armor on a character, which is currently broken in this alpha. This might be your issue. If you want to try to remove it yourself, open the .xml file and look for "<ItemConnections>" and delete everything between that and "</ItemConnections>".

There are also still some shader issues we need to address in this level, but we'll get that figured out soon...

It definitely does, you just need to know the correct file to update.

In this case, it is in Data/Custom/timbles/instinct/Levels/instinct.xml

If you uninstall it using SUMLauncher, and then install it again, it will be broken again. I hope that in the future this will be fixed, and we can make it work straight out of SUMLauncher again.

It says the 'level'-file is empty
