Bird Of Prey Character

Here is a character that I made a few days ago, I made it have wings as arms so the flight mod will fit it just right :)
The texture is a little odd but i'll add some detail to it soon and I use gimp to mess the the alpha but the glowing on it is still weird but not as much, plus I gave the bird an open mouth model so he/she can actually talk during cutscenes.
Hope you like it and this is the second hand made character that I made.

I'm going to upload the panglider (Gliding Pangolin) character soon when I fix him up a bit

Very cool. Character mods are difficult and require a lot of time and effort so its cool to see you managed to make one of your own.

Thanks for the nice reply ^^ and I was happy when my first custom character loaded into overgrowth with no errors which was always about the model not having the same amount of verts as the skeleton, but it was just a little shiny.

Hey Hedgie, how did you manage to fix the error with the model not having the same amount of verts as the skeleton? I'm still having that problem and I haven't been able to fix it yet ):

To the best of my understanding (since I haven't fully gone through the process):

You have to build, rig, and export a skeleton for a given model. You can't just use any model with any skeleton. If you're seeing this error, the skeleton and model don't match each other.

Animations support retargeting, but I don't think skeletons do.

This is pretty awesome! You should consider uploading it to the Steam Workshop. Barely anyone goes on these forums nowadays.

Im really sorry for the late response but once I made my model in sculptris, I reduced the faces before I exported the model to blender as an obj. Once in blender I basically just went into the modifiers tab and clicked on add modifier and the add decimate and I use that to reduced the triangular faces to 10,000 verts/faces or below. Hope this helps for ya

Thank you I'm glad you like it :D and also im sorry for the slight glow on it I am new to texturing on overgrowth models in gimp, I was thinking to publish it on steam so I'll go and do that once I get the chance :)

I finally uploaded this to the steam workshop plus my custom made prickly armor called The Jade Chestnut Armor ^^
