Overgrowth is so laggy

Post by BaconStorm64 » Sat Apr 23, 2016 10:31 pm

I got Overgrowth for my birthday and could play it fine, but recently it's started lagging horribly, low or high quality I'm getting a max of about 6 FPS, can anyone help me fix this?

My computer is more than capable of running Overgrowth, with a 3.8 GHz quad-core processor, 24 GB of ram, and a GTX 970. It's not the computer's problem, it's the games problem.

Although my performance is due to multiple actors at once.

i read a post on here saying there working on perforomance, it seems the shadows and what not are making everyone lag ALOT i have a g2x 960 2gb with a six core processor so we definitely are able to run it but we just have to wait for next patch/update i guess :p

I don't think the game is multi-threaded at all, so having more cores is not going to help performance. Might make it a bit worse if each core has a lower clock than they otherwise would as a trade-off for having more cores.

We were working on performance, but due to the recent change in focus we are not specifically doing that right now. We are fixing more bugs than usual though, leading to better performance.

We definitely have performance in mind and will make sure the game runs reasonably well before it's released.

Use Task Manager to identify processes consuming high CPU, memory, or disk usage. Also, strands run a malware scan to ensure your system is not infected.
