because that noise they make in lugaru IS quite annoying...
There are going to be subtitles. The sounds in L2 are going to be much better in L1 since they are contracted out to professionals instead of created by David blowing into a microphone.

Oblivion is a good example of what not to do, IMHO.

And yeah, Jeff, I have played some of the Broken Sword games. That dialogue system was also used in the PC RPG Septerra Core. It's handy, because once you hear about something new off one person, you can go back to people previously said everything you possibly could to and you will have the new option.
I prefer the dialogue system where you can pick which line you want to say, but that system would probably be quite time-consuming and the system you mentioned is quite fine itself. It's not the main aspect of the game, so there's no real point fussing over it.
They both have their pros and cons. I am really liking Broken Sword though. The dialog interface is so simple, yet extremely effective.

Professionals? Did you diguise a microphone as a corrot and feed it to a mob of rabbits? how much are they asking for in retun to the sounds?
how exciting.

I'm not sure what the going rate is. It's surprisingly inexpensive though. Basically we have a long list of every sound that we want in the game and split it up among several contractors. The weapon sounds are particularly good.

awesome! thats a good idea! do they do ambient sounds, like a wolf howling in the distance, or wind blowing? and do they do music to?
