Random Idea III

Fatigue- prolonged sprinting (suggested by me earlier) or excessive jumping could slow your movement or shorten the height of your jumps respectively. This would be nice as is would prevent the game from being like Quake III as everyone just jumps around everywhere or jumps off walls repeatedly, hoping to be able to rabbit kick another person into the wall, as it is a very cheap strategy and would be obnoxious online.

Hmm, how about backward kicks?

For instance, jumping down from something, and kicking someone over when just about to land behind someone who was down there.

If you used two feet, you'd break your nose since you were so close to the ground, unless you broke your fall with your hands. The kick would be rather weak if you used one leg, though.

Or maybe breaking someone's neck from above with either a dive, or your feet? Or both?

Probably not, as the engine is completely different, and the clothing systems would be different, and so on, but I don't know this for sure.

heh, i hope you guys are talking about hanging from something on the ceiling, 'cause i don't know about you, but I can't hang upside down from a plain old ceiling.

Edit: A friend of mine who also plays Lugaru has suggested that their be special moves for scaling buildings (ala russian climbing).

I know it is hard to think of something logical, but I still think Lugaru 2 should have vechiles of some sort. What kind of non-horse-powered thing did they use in medieval times?

Maybe you could ride the hawk? Or control it and use it for attacking (like Roland Deschain vs. Cort).

That would be fun. But it would be overpowered, flying veichiles are always the ultimate weapons (Halo 2.. Banshee....) How about, to make it harder to use, the hawk always flies fowards. Or that the hawk can't attack.

Or you could just give T wings...

Image

..or cross bunnies with hawks...

Image

..but riding the hawk? I don't think the relative sizes work well.

Image

Maybe just let T fly like Superbunny...

Image

...or give him a jet pack.

Personally, I believe the hawk represents something completely different in Lugaru. I believe it represents the ethereal, metaphysical elements of Turner's warrior philosophy; a guiding, centering spirit, part of Turner and yet still separate.

It's always with him, circling above the spot where he spawns in each level, but it's not a part of him that he can command or direct; certainly he wouldn't ever try to tame or ride it, in spite of my humorous images above.

In my Lugaru world-view, Turner doesn't understand the role of the hawk either, and even develops a murderous attitude towards it when he temporarily loses his sanity. This occurs after he learns the horrible truth of who was actually behind the conspiracy that destroyed his family and village.

But after raging out of control, in the grip of a psychotic obsession, Turner finally realizes what the hawk represents. This is why he wears a hawk skull pin on his wolf-skin shirt, and the Hawk Clan symbol on his headband.
