Im not sure these will be Scripted deaths.Jeff wrote:The new skeletal animation system was designed with this purpose.leDoOd wrote:I had an idea for dying or getting KO'd in Lugaru 2.
Instead of the generic complete ragdoll upon death as seen in most games nowadays, how about mixing scripted and ragdoll? Like instead of just "kick, collapse into ragdoll" it could be "kick, fall down, struggle for a little, collapse into ragdoll" or "kick, fall down, sit up, commit seppoku, collapse into ragdoll".
Basically the just going limp after "death" is declared in the game isn't very realistic in my opinion. Some sort of mix of "pre-death" struggling would add to the realism of the game.
The problem would be scripted animations' clipping issues, repetitiveness, and things like that, but since the animation is going to be physics based for running, the same sort of thing could be used for the pre-death sequences... like instead of going through a wall, Turner could bump off of it or something.
By the sound of jeffs response he has somethin cool up his sleeve, like, if you dont OBLITERATE the opponent, and just lightly KO him, his torso might go limp, but his arms and legs stagger to try and keep balance, then he ragdolls, It would be different everytime as the staggering would be like those ragdolls in "endorphin" by NaturalMovement

Oh, Question...
if you are to use a sledge hammer on some ones skull in l2, Will there be Blood spatter or the more appropriate chunky Grey matter? and if you can rip some ones guts out, will you see the appropriate Intestines and other gore? or will it be the same as l1 were there is a red spot on the models were some one Stabbed them?
