I actually like these ideas apart from porcupines and mounts and bears. In other words I think ferrets and boars would probably add to the game. I'm not holding my breath for them to be added though. The game already has enough races as it is.

Yeah, likely nothing is this thread is going to be vanilla.
Still want to do that bird mount someday.

Idk. Mounts seems like overkill a little bit, seeing as the characters are already ridiculously fast. You know what would be cool tho? A character that is naturally better at sneaking, like a racoon

if there were to be mounts in the game, I would think it should be extremely rare. Like for rabbits an eagle could be a rare mount that you have to tame but It can be killed just like any other npc. (just an idea) But I think the game is fine without mounts. Different animals could have different abilities, like cheetahs could have fast speed but a vulnerable skeletal structure, while bears could have slow speed but strong endurance. And like you said there, a raccoon could be harder to detect when its sneaking.

Foxes sound cool, idk about porcupines though, maybe if someone tries to choke you they get impaled on the spikes? lol

Especially with the fly mod, maybe someone could reskin the rabbit to an eagle? Probably wouldn't work, just an idea

Rat! (if you've read the underland chronicles that kind instead of this one)
Squirrel! (not great at parkour but can climb any rough surface)
I know this isnt the thread but MORE MAPS!

Anyway see ya!

Rats are already in the game.
EDIT: I'm dumb. Sorry. What makes the rats in that series special? And how would the ylook like?

Here's a custom squirrel character, created by RagdollZombie.

I don't think we'll get more official maps while the game is in alpha. They are currently working on the campaign and releasing parts of that before it's done doesn't seem like a bright idea.

Personally, I don't think any of those fit Overgrowth. I especially don't like the ones that don't exist today. I think instead of mounting birds you could go hawking. Using the birds as a distraction would be cool as well.

I would love to see some form of bird of prey like race, taking elements from eagles, hawks and secretary birds, to produce the bipedal humanoid appearance. With an emphasis on kicking and pinning in combat.

I personally would love to see some form of raptor(bird of prey type race) with a fighting style based on kicks and pins, similar to an eagle/secretary bird.

Well, there is a Tengu character with custom animations.

Also, Chicken anyone?
