Steam?

Post by LemonyStuff » Fri Aug 12, 2011 7:53 am

I am really interested in Overgrowth and I play my games on Steam. I was wondering, before I preorder, if I get a code for Steam. Or if it is supported for Steam. Feedback is appreciated, thanks.

I think your question can best be answered by these two blog posts (which should be the happy answer you were looking for):

Unless something has changed, which seems unlikely, this deal still holds.

Wolfire and Valve are pretty tight. The Humble Indie Bundles have all been on Steam, so I would imagine Overgrowth would be too.

it's funny because they had to go through hell to get lugaru and overgrowth on there, and after that it was like they had their foot in the door.

This pretty much sold it to me. I play all my games on Steam, so I'm glad that this is happening. :)

The preorder downloads aren't available in Steam. I think only the final game will be. If you have internet connection that can handle a few gigs every few weeks, nothing's stopping you from preordering now and trying it out. There isn't that much of a game in there yet, though, although the combat system has improved immensely in the last few weeks.

The OG download was about 2 GB last I checked. There's an updater of sorts that lets you only download the differences, but it sometimes glitches, and if you miss an update you need to do a full download or go through every single patcher in order, and it's easy to miss something.
