Lugaru 2; Suggestion. Mapmaker/Custom made maps

Post by Gronlbad » Sat Jun 17, 2006 1:38 pm

It would be really releasing to have a mapmaker in the menu (or startmenu) instead of In-Game and a button that says Custom made maps/Campains.

That's not very nice hdlsa

Gronlbad, Lugaru 2 is going to have an incredible map maker. Check out my work on PhoenixUI: http://blog.wolfire.com/?p=46 You are basically going to have an OS level GUI working with you in the game, so you will have palettes, popup menus, and other useful tools right there in the program. You won't even have to leave the program to write a dialogue. "Maps" aren't really the right word though. A "quest" or "scenario" a la Oblivion is probably more accurate.

As for custom content... I have not really introduced wolfireNET yet, but Lugaru 2 is going to have the most advanced third party content system ever created, again, using PhoenixUI right in the game. Instead of having to muck around with files and looking around on the forum and wiki, you will have a database of every single mod ever created for L2 and you will be able to rate them in the game, seamlessly install them, sort them, etc. all without even leaving L2.
