Questions about the overgrowth linux version

When I found out about this game I got very interested in it. It looks like a lot of fun :) When I read more about it and found out it is supposedly coming for linux too I got even happier and now I got the urge to preorder it.

However...

At the risk of sounding like an overdemanding jerk I have to ask a couple of questions before I preorder overgrowth:

1. Why are there windows and mac alphas ready to be tried out but no linux alpha? Do wolfire developers see linux as a second rate platform for games?
2. When could one realistically expect the linux version to be ready if at all? Only after the official launch or maybe sooner? Not asking for exact dates here, an estimation will do fine
3. What guarantee do I have that the linux version will get the same amount of attention support and polishment as the windows and mac versions?

If I like the answers I get to these questions I will preorder

Oh! When I did a little more googling I found this: http://wiki.wolfire.com/index.php/Overgrowth_Alpha_FAQ
From the very bottom of that page I can kinda-ish find answers to all these questions. For what I can understand from it, it seems that you, the wolfire team have really tried to get the linux version out but the guy you wanted to hire to do this has more important things to do. So what is this Ryan Gordon's current project and when is it gonna be ready?

Then there is this bit that I'd like clarified a little further:
As always, we are more than happy to give out Overgrowth preorder refunds and if you guys are interested, you can re-preorder later on once the native Linux build is complete.
So does this mean that if I find the linux version not as well supported/implemented as the other two (or if I find out it's not coming after all) I can get my money back? Please note that I don't think it's probable this is going to happen but it doesn't hurt to know.

I think that's about all I can think of at the moment. I hope I dind't piss any of you off or make you sad/mad. Regardless of what kind of replies this topic is going to get you should be aware of the fact that I think Overgrowth and it's creators are AWESOME!
peace.

They are currently working on getting the Linux build up and running. Hopefully more information (possibly a blog post) will be revealed soon.

If for any sort of reason the Linux build does not end up getting released (which realistically will not happen), you would get reimbursed for your purchase, no hassle.

They plan to do Linux. Search their blog, there's several nice articles about it.

However, as you can see from the dates, they've been planning it for years, and it hasn't happened yet. And we don't know when it will happen.

That sounds very good.

And this not so good.

Hmmm. I will think about this a little longer. :P

Edward Rudd just made a post today on the forums stating that he will hopefully have an initial build up and running within the next couple weeks (which may or may not be usable by the public, but he said he would post a screenshot).
