The Multiplayer

At some stage SOMEONE, ANYONE! has to somehow make lugaru into a kind of MMORPG! (not with Items etc) but like you can just run around doing the usual stuff, only there are other players online two, so you can all gather round in a building and chat. etcetc :P

one of the main purposes of MMORPGs is getting the best items. It is all a big contest for who can have the most leet gear. You may be playing without that as your goal, but trust me it really is, you just don't know it.

I played a couple of MMOs. It felt like a huge waste of time and money without being fun.

Lugaru wouldn't be a cool MMO. But if someone would mod it to an IRC frontend, heck, why not use it. Chatting and bashing wolves could be fun.

The only thing that would make me think of Lugaru as a good multiplayer game would be kicking other player's avatar asses - and having them frozen for the round. So that just one guy would remain at the end, Last Man Standing style.
Then a simple highscore website to check who pwns the rest and I'd have fun with it.

The engine isn't made for huge amounts of player-controlled avatars with synched stats on a server and all that mumbojumbo. So... Modding it would be as tough as modding GTA SA to a multiplayer mod.

Bottomline: Do it yourself or wait forever :)

I really like the idea of a playable lobby for Lugaru like what you described, but it wouldn't really work for an MMORPG.

There will be a chatroom system with rankings and such for multiplayer, sort of like Bungie.net or GameRanger. That's one of the core features of Wolfire.NET

I never liked MMORPG's. They're repetitive and have no really fun gameplay. Runescape and WoW and stuff. Snore.
