Query about prepurchasing for someone else as a gift

Basically, I'd like to purchase Overgrowth as a gift for a "friend". If I simply enter his email into the pre-order page when I pay for it, how much information about my financial transaction does he have access to?
Will the development team tell him my google checkout/ paypal account data on request? I don't want him to have access to that sort of thing, but I do want to be able to gift the game.

He would, at the very least, need to have a registered account in these forums, so that the pre-order title is linked to that account. Perhaps you could contact the developers directly? I know they can connect orders to a forum account that didn't exist when the order was placed. Unless someone who knows more about the pre-ordering process answers here, that's probably your best bet.

They won't have any access to your order information at all. We won't either for that matter, because we don't actually process the order ourselves. I believe we would theoretically be able to tell him your name, but none of your credit card details.

With that said, we should have a real gifting feature in the next few weeks.
