Problem with launcher

I see in videos that people have a scroll wheel for the CUSTOM maps and lots more DEFAULT maps then I have. I have version 167 and it is the official torrent so buying the game won't change anything. Their is lot's of pirate hate on this forum and rightfully so, but I have a more valid excuse then most. I play on a laptop and don't know my exact system spec's, coupled with the fact that this game hasn't been optimised and a boatload of people who say their computer just "locks up" when they start fighting; so I pirated the game to see if I could actually run it and I plan on buying it to support this great game and indie company.
Back to the problem I have, the first DEFAULT map on my list is red shards. In videos I see people with langaru challenge 1 (the one in all the recent changelog videos) as their first default map, yet that level is not even in my game files. The last default level on my list is impressive mountains if that helps clarrify my problem.
On a side note, the way you guys instantly squash any bodies newb questions if they don't have the "preordered" tag just scares people off. Why would anybody buy what they already have for free if they associate paying that money with agressive forum warriors? If I can get a solid awnser to this question I will definitely buy the game for the communities awesome custom maps and other mods.

People are probably upset at pirates because they get to play the game for free, while we have to pay $30 for that privilege. Also, Wolfire needs all the support they can get, and even if one person pirating the game doesn't seem like it would make a difference, it does.

How should we react, then?
I don't mind non-preorderers posting here or talking here or discussing their Overgrowth wishes here. I do care about people claiming it's ok to pirate the game. If that's what the people visiting the official forums see, why would they buy?
I also don't care for people asking for tech support for something they pirated. If they haven't paid for it, why should they get free tech support too? Note that I'm not talking about your post here, but in general.
You're probably seeing a mod called Main Menu Mod. It's a collection of user-made maps.

Quoting myself here because both you guys didn't properly understand my post. Its funny how I just ask a simple question and ask if pirate hate could be avoided, but bang straight up 2 pirate hate posts

I already stated I will be buying the game since my computer can run it and I enjoy the game (and would like custom maps), but you might of "scared me off" if I was somebody who didn't know what indie ment.
EDIT: That main menu mod might explain the custom maps scroller, but I am still missing the first default map used in the recent change logs (the one with two guys on a pillar) and most likely many others.

Well if you try to see it from our point of view, many of us have been following wolfire for years and have gotten to know the team rather well, it's rather a personal connection so when someone who hasn't bought the game asks for things the only purpose of which would be use in the game, we get a bit mad. it's a bit like if someone stole your friend's car and cell phone and then called you to ask how to start the car or something. In any case certainly hope not to scare off anyone interested in buying the game.

And I completely understand that. Now if somebody could please answer my question...

Well I'm not sure but probably the lugaru challenge map is for download in the spf and you can change the default starting map.

Anything as mild as the opinions in this thread can't really be considered "hate".
Could you post links to the videos which show the kind of menu you think you should have? I still think it's a mod of some sort, but it's very difficult to say for sure. Besides, it's not like I could recognize it any way - I don't have the current alpha installed, and I haven't tried out any mods in a while.

This Lugaru challnge level is 1 part of the main menu mod and 1 part of the oficial relese. This means The mod onley adds a icon into main menu but the map .xml file is oficially released and you can play it but you have to load it in manually in the main menu.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't hating on you. I hate to admit it, but I also pirated the game a while back to see if it would run. After 10 minutes, I uninstalled it and started saving up some money to buy it. My point is that you don't need custom maps to benchmark the game, and even if we were willing to offer them you wouldn't have access to them.

The extra maps are added by the Main Menu mod, which can be easily installed with the SUMLauncher, which requires your SPF key to run...

This forum needs more hate to make our pirate hate seem less hateful.

You should go discuss that in the
SUMLauncher thread in the SPF... If you happen to use AVG anti-virus, that might be the problem.

This is just about the mildest pirate thread I've ever seen, I don't know how any of this can be classified as "hate" of any kind...

Except this. You filthy hate-mongerer. I hate you.
It seems like the fix for your problem is to either download the main menu mod only available through the SPF, or if that's not even the case, to buy a legitimate copy of the game. We're not responsible for the quality of illegal torrents.
