I have some ideas for Overgrowth i don't care if you flame me just speak your mind.
#1 bow and arrows, crossbows and other arrow weapons (maybe flintlock guns? maybe?)
#2 can have 1-3 weapons because i want to be a assassin with 2 knifes and a bow and arrow (above)
#3 better sneak ability because id love to sneak up and kill someone
#4 when you hit someone from behind that has a weapon it counts as a block
#5 Magic i know this is a serious game but who doesn't love roasting things with fireballs? or maybe chilling bunnies to the bone or have a shocking conclusion with lighting (yes, I'm bad at puns)
:D

I can agree only to dual weapons, maybe bows too...

I think i know a game where there is almost all those features. TES5.
I don't say there wouldn't be some of those features you said but allot of them will be modded into the Overgrowth later by the community. I myself are against bows and that kind of weapons. But i already made a bow model (an object not a weapon) that you can carry on your back or in your hand. But you can't fire arrows right now until someone codes that feature in and adds a animation for that. Image

I think this would be better suited to the SPF. Could we get a mod on this?
Oh yeah. I guess I should contribute too. :)
#1 Bows are a big maybe. I'm against them personally, but there are lots of discussions about them on the SPF.
2# I think we'll probably see two. Although who knows? Being able to carry more than one small weapon as well as a big weapon at once might be kind of cool.
3# You can though. They detect you once you get right up to them, but there's a period after they see you where they're confused, and you can still stealth kill them.
4# What do you mean?
5# ...no. Please no.

I imagine coding two-weapon fighting in would be much more complicated than single-weapon fighting, so it's unlikely to happen.

However, there's many, many silly weapon combinations that were actually used. Some combinations are of course physically impossible, like properly using two big swords meant for two-handed use. That still leaves very weird stuff like two rapiers (case of rapiers), or sword and tonfa, or sword and nunchaku, and two short spears.

ok so in #4 i got some questions about what do you mean. well what i mean is sometimes as i play overgrowth i can hit them in the back as their picking up a weapon but it will act like they block your attack. Also i have new ideas
#6 items to upgrade other items example iron knuckles and spiked knuckles to upgrade punchs
#7 a charge attack this is when you run a certin speed and if you do the attack button you hold out
your weapon in front skewering anyone in your way
#8 armor so everyone doesn't die from a spear in 2 hits it adds a free hit for each grade so normal armor (what you start with none) cloth armor adds 1 hit chain armor adds 2 hits and iron armor adds 3 hits then theres spiked armor any knife or fist that hits the armor will take damage of a knife slash. but what i mean from adds a hit i mean a hit that doesn't make you bleed and after the number of hits it will break and you have to get more. you cannot stack armor so no putting on 15 sets of iron armor.
this does not affect blunt weapons (hammers, fist without spiked knuckles)
#9 bandages this will heal the health of a damage of a knife slash and it takes awhile for it to work so you cant spawn 50 and heal all your damage instantly.
10# shields sorta like armor except when you die its released from your hand. Theres a cloth shield which blocks a hit then theres a spiked shield its the same as the spiked armor but it blocks 2 hits and there a iron shield that blocks 3 hits.
#11 shield base (see above) when you block with the shield doing a attack will execute a shield bash. cloth and iron stuns for a bit but spiked armor does the damage of 2 knife slashes and stuns them.

I think you are misleading with Overgrowth's idea in general. Although i am relatively new preorderer, i already am pretty involved and have read tons of posts on Forum. Overgrowth is, to my mind (and as i conclude from users posts), fast paced action game where single mistake simply leads to death. It is all about mastering. Shields, spells, bandages, carrying a lot of stuff equals reduce of difficult, simplification. It would made game a bit more mainstream, not so unique and original. As someone mentioned, you can have all this features it Skyrim. I love TES saga etc. :) Thus i keen on with features like yours. But not in this game!
However, charge attack sounds cool. Of course, if well-balanced, not as powerful as leg cannon

the main reason i want armor is so my teammates will live because if you get a teammate (the same character as you) they stink at combat so i want them to survive longer so i don't have 3 enemies attacking me at once.

Armor is planned. Shields are planned, of a sort. They are smaller bucklers. There was some concept art featuring a few ideas Ninjas had:

I'd really like the bucklers to be handled with an attitude that they are weapons and not armor ;) Also, I want to see, and I will talk this up as much as I want and all the time, lethal wrestling techniques. People always disregard this as a viable combat method in games, or as one reserved to crap WWA games, but ancient people used to train in it as a method of unarmed warfare. In the Illiad, a wrestling match is held for prizes and is just as deadly as the other activities practiced. I'd love to see dogs using a grappling technique and start breaking bones and biting out jugulars and such.

ok so more weapons i thought of will be sorta groups so i have new weapons
(explosives)
#1 Dynamite this is thrown and takes awhile to prime. it causes MASSIVE damage but has such a wide radius if your using it in a inclosed area you dieing because you will be throw back and break your back or your neck or something.
#2 Firepot this is a clay pot that spreads fire and burns people or bunnies whatever. it can be debilitating if used right.
(thrown)
#1 boomerang this doesn't exactly hurt someone it does but it distracts people they will chase after like its a enemy unless its a wolf.
#2 tomahawk these can attack buts best to throw
#3 javelin you can get 5 at once and throw them these don't do much damage though attacking will cause a javelin to break and ever throwing will make it break. this will be based off the Roman disign which is once it hits the tip breaks off so it can be used again.
(melee)
#1 Bo staff think of it as a spear without a point but you can stab it into the ground swing on it and kick anyone around you.
#2 Battleaxe a 2 handed axe that can decapitate :3
#3 ax yeah just a one handed axe
#4 trident
(misc or odd)
#1 grapple hook this can grab poor people and drag them to you
#2 net yeah like gladiators this is trap someone for a bit
#3 bear trap yeah they cant detect it and when the stomp on it it kills them or kos them or whatever.
#4

Well, there's a plain ole staff already in the game. Not gonna remark on the rest, but if you want to try the staff, go under Data/Items and dig around in there for the XML file. I believe it uses cut planes, but those aren't too difficult to remove in the XML, as they aren't realistic for a staff.
But explosives, like dynamite, I doubt would be added in. The fire pot thing sounds like it wouldn't be a terrible addition though. That'd be saved for sometime later, once David has fire that burns.
