I've been watching some videos of Overgrowth for some time now and I would love preorder the game yet I can't because my parents don't really agree using their credit cards on games (yes I know pretty stupid) and I was wondering if this game once launched would also be available as a retail version? Or maybe you guys can give me an idea so I can convince my parents to buy it? Please, I am dying to play this game

I don't know which country you're located at, but you could try the following:

Buy an Amazon giftcard from a local shop.

I can't confirm that credit card details aren't needed for this method though...

I can't confirm anything about a physical retail version, though I would imagine one would exist.

well how about a regular visa giftcard? that's what i did and it worked.

At first i have no idea if this thing would work but maybe it does.
Lets say you have the 30$ that is needed to preorder Overgrowth. Also you have a bank account, but you don't have a credit card because of your age? And last thing that i want to add is that your parents allow you to buy Overgrowth.

Now I believe that you can go to your local bank and make a transaction directly to the Wolfire bank account when you have all the necessary bank numbers for that.
But to do that you first may want to ask form Wolfire is it possible to do so and when it does can you get all the necessary numbers that bank needs from them.
Now go to your local bank and ask if you can do something like this (there may be some bank fee for that to, you know). So make that little dream possible for you.

A Visa gift card would solve the problem.

Why won't your parents want you to use their card online? One reason in the risks. Another might be that they don't understand the technology, and are afraid you or them would do something wrong. Third reason might be that they don't want you to start spending their money on all kinds of internet stuff. Perhaps they think you've been asking for too much stuff lately. There could be other reasons too.

We can't know what your parents are thinking. However, you can ask them, talk with them. What could you do so that they'd want to buy you the game.

Perhaps they want you to pay for it with your own money. Perhaps they would agree to give it to you if you start doing something they've been nagging about. Perhaps they think you already have enough violent games and don't want you to have another one.

Whatever happens, the game is still in alpha, and there isn't that much stuff you can do with it. While it might sound harsh now, you'll lose nothing even if you have to wait a year or too. The game might be released then, and will be in a much more finished state.

Also, I'm almost positive they said no retail version.

Yeah, I got a very "online only" vibe.
