It could work, though usually there's one spam topic per spammer, so a minimal post count of about 2 would work.

Joining this forum is very often connected to making a new thread, like "David, I paid like 5 minutes ago, isn't it time to give me the serial number?"

The link thing is good though.

But not having quite so many of those topics so quickly would be a good thing, wouldn't it?

I'm on the forums all the time and I hate spam more than my custom title , so... ME! I've always wanted to be a moderator ...
