My friend brought me Overgrowth game for my birthday (version 191 alpha...)
He also brought me with his USB a Overgrowth map pack that he collected he saided that the maps are in version 174..... So my question is will the maps that are for version 174 work with version 191

The maps probably work. If you're interested in getting the custm maps, you should register your account as a preorderer, and get SUMLauncher from the SPF (secret preorder forum). It makes updating your game easier, and it makes it very easy to download all the latest maps.
