Please post Overgrowth related topics either in the Secret Preorder Forum.
Here are the instructions to get there. It will also give you access to the Modding subforum where tons of user creations are available and where you can get the SUMLauncher that adds a lot of these things to your game automatically.

Your cousin only bought the game for you if he also gave you a code, otherwise, he bought the game for himself and gave you a copy, which is not the same thing. You'll need to either get the code from him, or have him actually buy you your own copy, which he can buy as a gift from the ordering page. Once you have that code, you will be able to access the forums related to the game, including access to the SPF where we discuss the details of Overgrowth, including modding. It will also gain you access to user made tools, like the SUMLauncher, which will help keep your game up to date, and make installing custom maps much simpler.

There is however the wiki, which contains a lot of useful information. You might check there as well.
