FPS Drop in certain combat

As I'm playing, hand to hand combat runs very smoothly. But when I'm against an enemy with a sword, and we start fighting, my fps drops drastically. Could this be something to do with the blood too?

It's most likely the blood.
This mod allows you to deactivate it right in the game, in case it bothers you too much.
