well first of id like to say that i've been playing vid games my whole life, most of my life and i have to admit i ONLY JUST NOW heard of Overgrowth from a friend who sent me a vid on youtube, which is a shame, more people need to know about this!

oh and if there is a kickstarter and i just didnt find it im sorry

why aren't you doing a kickstarter?
i think you guys need to sit down, think of a few way to push publicity on this game hard with a campaign - something free ofc, talk to the big sites and ask for their help, articles and such - and when its out there and people have seen it, make a kick starter while its hot!

you guys have something AMAZING here, if i wasn't so short on cash id buy it RIGHT NOW, but it needs to wait for next month. if u do a simple kickstarter who knows? maybe itll even make the development faster and better! maybe you can achieve things you didn't think you could (and maybe go to beta ahem )

anyway - sorry for blabing im SURE you guys know how much money can help you i was just wondering why not do it?

The team has been pushing pretty hard for a while. They get pretty regular coverage on RPS, Kotaku, and some of the other big sites, and the game was approved for Steam in 2008. They started doing funding for the game through pre-orders when they began working on the game in 2008, and they have been sufficient from that to continue development since then. They also have a pretty regular following of people on Youtube, and their blog posts, so they are doing ok.

However, when the game gets closer to a finished product, I believe their PR engine will come back to life. Part of the team at Wolfire also are the founders of Humble Bundle, and they have many connections to those outlets for coverage as well. But, as with all indie games, the best PR comes from word of mouth and people sharing their love for the game, so, it's cool that you found it that way, and you can continue to help out by spreading the word!
