I've played it, it's impossible to play against the AI, and runs a little slow in classic, otherwise it's pretty good.

To run classic, first install it off the install disc if it wasn't installed with your mac already, then just open GLFighters!

AI Impossible? lol, Its part of my daly Rituals to kick the AIs ass on GLFighters, I will admit it dose kinda have a few flaws in the AI. Brilliant game. thats a game you could play over the net for weeks and not get bored. I do think that it needs a few things like weaponry spawns that you can pick up and that. Its a really great game!

Not necessarily impossible, but a bit too hard at times.

The AI's only hard when you're on the ground :) . But in the air with weapons, it's almost impossible to LOSE... well, not if you're a noob. Also, the AI gets stuck on the ropes once in a while :P .

If I could get my hands on the source code, I might be able to port it when I'm done learning Open GL.

At the game page it says "for the sourcecode go to idevgames.com"
but I can't find it there.

Have you googled it though?

Something like "site:idevgames.com GLFighters Source OR "Source Code"" would probably find it if it was there.
