Running Black Shades in windowed mode?

I think it isn't possible, but I'm trying to record Black Shades movies with Ambrosia Software's Snapz X Pro. Unfortunately, the fullscreen mode seems to make some trouble, and only a very small part of the screen (maybe 15x15 pixels!) is recorded… so, is there a way to switch Black Shades in windowed mode?

I don't know about window mode in Black Shades, but when I was recording footage for Ode to Black Shades, I'd open up Snapz, make a really small movie window, put it in the upper left, then change the resolution to something much smaller in the System Prefs (for me, 1024x640), reopen Snapz, make the movie window fullscreen, make sure Black Shades has the exact same res as the one set in System Prefs, and start recording.
The only problem with this is if you've got a larger monitor than the res you've set, it can look pretty ugly, but it gets the job done once the movie's finished

Very strange. What's the res of Black Shades set at in config.txt?

I entered 640x480, which is the same res as the one I set before I started the recording.
I have a MacBook under Mac OS 10.4.10, with an Intel Core Duo processor… and you're on a PowerPC, aren't you?

Yep, G5 Quad 2.5.
However, my dad has a MacBook (which I occasionally use), I could try it on there.

i have mac OSX
i run it all the time and never have any problems... i was never even aware it had a history of OSX problems... 0_0

Seriously, I never had any problem with Black Shades. The only thing which don't work is the custom level feature.

Same. There is a OS X version you can get off versiontracker, I think, that has always worked. The official one didn't, but this one does.

Interesting. I'd prefer to run the OS9 version in classic. And just so you know, custom levels
do work in the OS9 version.

Why? The only advantage of the original is it has custom levels. I could see keeping it, but wouldn't it be easier to play in X most of the time?

You shouldn't buy Leopard : they removed Classic in this version
!
The only way I have to run Black Shades with Custom Levels is using ShepShaver. But it's a pain to put applications on the OS9 virtual HD… I must burn a CD each time!
